Well, it has been over two weeks since the Mad Ants have played at home. So that explains the number of new faces that will be on the floor tonight when the team meets Maine.
We've been through them before, but here's a quick recap: Devan Downey, of course, is the newest, now that guard Tory Jackson went down with an ankle injury. This will also be the first we've seen of Travis Walton, a guard from Michigan State, and center Mike Tisdale, of Illinois.
And then there is the new assistant coach, Christian Laettner, who is making his Memorial Coliseum debut.
I told Laettner about the history of the building - how the NBA All-Star Game was played here - and he thought that was pretty neat.
And there is one familiar face.
Anthony Kent, who played several seasons with the Mad Ants, will be in a Maine uniform tonight and tomorrow.
The 6-foot-11 center starts for the Red Claws. He averages 7.0 points and 5.1 rebounds, and leads the team with 39 blocks in 26 games.
