The Mad Ants lost the lead with five minutes left in the third quarter and never got it back in a 115-109 loss to the Maine Red Claws on Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee picked up a loose ball that rolled to his feet and fired an 18-footer from the right wing to give Maine (10-17) a 74-73 lead it never relinquished.
Darnell Lazare led the Ants (10-17) with 31 points, and Cam Jones added 28. Guard Kenny Hayes, who had just three points after the first period, led Maine with 26 points.
The same two teams will play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Coliseum.
