FORT WAYNE – A 23-year-old Fort Wayne man was sentenced this week in Allen Superior Court to six years in prison for robbery.
Travis M. Oldham pleaded guilty in January to the single felony charge of robbery, as well as misdemeanor charges of resisting law enforcement and carrying a handgun without a license.
On Monday, Judge Fran Gull accepted the plea agreement and sentenced Oldham to 10 years in prison, with four years suspended and four years on probation. He was ordered to pay $813 in restitution.
Last August, Travis Oldham and Roger Oldham lurked in bushes outside a north-side bank, waiting for someone to pull up to the night deposit box.
When someone came, one of the men popped out, pointed a gun and robbed two shoestore employees carrying more than $1,000.
But the police were also nearby, watching the bank after two similar robberies were reported earlier in the summer, according to court documents.
Roger Oldham also pleaded guilty in the robbery and will be sentenced this month.
