Inside a nearly-full Gates Center, where the team ended a four-game losing streak Thursday with an emotional win over North Dakota State, IPFW got blasted by South Dakota State 74-43 Saturday.
It was the second time this season that IPFW (10-11, 4-8 Summit League) got hammered by SDSU (17-6, 9-2). Exactly a month ago, South Dakota State won in Brookings, S.D., 94-58, handing the Mastodons their worst conference loss since joining the Summit League.
Junior center Mario Hines led IPFW with 12 points, and junior guard Frank Gaines had 10, which included one point in the final 20 minutes.
IPFW had more turnovers (18) than baskets (16) in the loss.
