New sentence set in child molesting

The Indiana Court of Appeals ordered a new sentence for a 25-year-old man convicted of having sexual contact with a young girl.

In a ruling handed down this week, the higher court ordered Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull to revise the sentence given to Jameson Curry, convicted of child molesting.

Last April, Gull sentenced Curry to five years in prison on the charge.

While the Court of Appeals upheld Curry’s conviction, the judges ruled the five-year sentence was inappropriate because of Curry’s lack of criminal history.

The appeals court ordered Gull to resentence Curry to four years.
