Christopher Koluder lives in Wolcottville on Witmer Lake and took some photos of bald eagles hunting coots just off the shoreline.
He said the lake was totally frozen last weekend, except for a 20-foot hole where the coots were. The eagles hunted the coots all day Saturday and Sunday.
An avid birdwatcher, he said this is the first time I have seen bald eagles on the lake.
