A 29-year-old man pleaded guilty Monday in Allen Superior Court, admitting to having sex with a then-13-year-old girl.
Jesus Luvianos, of the 3100 block of Thompson Avenue, told police when he was questioned that he did not know it was illegal to have sex with the girl, when she was 13 and then again when she was 14, until he saw it on television, according to court documents.
During his plea hearing Monday morning, Luvianos still seemed reluctant to admit that what he did was wrong and against the law. He pleaded guilty to a Class A felony charge of child molesting and a Class C felony charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.
According to court documents, he will be sentenced to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
He told Magistrate Samuel Keirns that he was “maybe” satisfied with his court-appointed attorney, Michelle Kraus, because she could not secure a plea deal for him in which he did not have to admit having sex with the girl.
According to court documents, he told police he had sex with the girl on multiple occasions, as well as performed a variety of sex acts on her.
