  • Former IU player, coach Watson dies
    Lou Watson, who was an All-American and later coach at Indiana, died Thursday in Fairfax, Va. He was 88. Watson was an All-American in 1950 and coached at IU from 1966-1971.

IU snaps losing streak

Cody Zeller scored 18 points as Indiana defeated Penn State 73-54 Sunday at Assembly Hall.

Jordan Hulls added 14 points to help the No. 11 Hoosiers snap a three-game losing streak.

IU trailed by two points at halftime, but then began the second half outscoring the Nittany Lions 18-6. The Hoosiers rediscovered their shooting touch, making seven three-pointers.

Tim Frazier led Penn State with 21 points.
