I-69 slickening in spots, state police say

Interstate 69 has reopened in Grant County after accidents earlier this afternoon restricted traffic in both directions, Indiana State Police said tonight.

The road was restricted between the 57-mile marker in Grant County and the 73-mile marker near Warren in Huntington County because slick, hazardous conditions led to numerous slide-offs and property-damage accidents, state police in Peru and Fort Wayne said earlier.

Also, the interstate near and north of the Illinois Road exit in Fort Wayne is also becoming icy and slick, state police at Fort Wayne said.

Police said road and weather information can be obtained at 800-261-ROAD or at www.trafficwise.in.gov.
