And it’s not going to be long until life takes Girl in one direction, and Soccer Ball in another.Two people face more than a dozen charges after deer were killed illegally in Kosciusko and Elkhart counties, Indiana conservation officers said.
Indiana conservation officers reported an 18-year-old and 17-year-old from Goshen killed six deer in Kosciusko County and at Oxbow Park in Elkhart County.
A park ranger first noticed suspicious activity on Christmas night, conservation officers said in a statement.
The subsequent investigation led a conservation officer to the suspects. Interviewed at the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, the conservation officers reported the 18-year-old acknowledged shooting three antlered deer in Kosciusko County, as well as assisting with the unlawful taking of a doe at the park.
The 17-year-old told police he shot two antlered deer in Kosciusko County, a doe in Kosciusko County and another doe in the Elkhart County park, the statement said.
The two face charges including taking deer with the aid of an artificial light, taking deer with the aid of a motor vehicle, hunting outside legal hours, taking over their limit of antlered deer for the season and failing to check in their deer at an official check-in station within 48 hours.
The Journal Gazette does not normally name those who are charged only with misdemeanors, and the young men face 16 misdemeanor charges, according to conservation officers.
Two firearms and a crossbow will be confiscated if they are convicted, the statement said.
