Plumadore

FORT WAYNE – On Friday, attorneys Anthony S. Churchward and Mark A. Thoma were appointed by the Allen County Defender’s Office to represent Michael Len Plumadore, accused of killing Aliahna Lemmon in December.

The memorial service for the Fort Wayne 9-year-old was Thursday evening.

Churchward has served as a deputy public defender since 2000 and Thoma has been on the public defender’s staff for 18 years.

Each has represented a number of major felony cases, according to a written statement issued by the defender’s office.

“The Allen County Public Defender’s Office has every confidence that Mr. Churchward and Mr. Thoma will undertake their obligation to represent Mr. Plumadore professionally, ethically and diligently with the bounds of the law,” the statement said.

The two are not permitted to discuss details about their representation or the facts of the case, the statement said.

Plumadore, 39, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Allen Superior Court to charges of murder, abuse of a corpse and moving a body from the scene of a suspicious or violent death. He entered pleas of not guilty to the charges Wednesday.
