Plumadore pleads not guilty

FORT WAYNE – Michael Len Plumadore, formally charged with murder in the death of 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon, pleaded not guilty at an initial hearing this morning.

Plumadore, in a striped jail jumpsuit, was silent as media shouted questions at him as he left the Allen County Courthouse.

A trial date for Plumadore will be set Jan. 18. Another pretrial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 27.

Plumadore is also charged with abuse of a corpse and moving a body from the scene of a suspicious or violent death.

He was being held without bail. A public defender has been appointed.

No decision has been reached by prosecutors on whether to seek the death penalty in the case, which remains under investigation.
