Christmas performances/music

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 7308 St. Joe Road, is having its annual Christmas pageant at 4 p.m. Dec. 24.

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 546 W. U.S. 224 in Decatur, is having a Christmas at the coffeehouse performance at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., will have performances of “The Little Shepherd” at the 9 and 11 a.m. services on Sunday.

St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, will have a Christmas sing-along at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Ossian Church of the Nazarene, 302 N. Metts St. in Ossian, will host the 3rd Row Boys, an Indianapolis-based choir, at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The choirs of Forest Park United Methodist Church, 2100 Kentucky Ave., and Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., will perform the cantata “Tapestry of Light” on Sunday. The peformances will take place at 8:30 a.m. at Waynedale and 10:15 a.m. at Forest Park.

Victory Noll Center, 1900 W. Park Drive in Huntington, will conduct “Las Posadas: Who is Knocking at the Door?” at 7 p.m. Sunday. The event is part of Mexican and Latin American Christmas traditions and is a re-enactment of Mary and Joseph seeking shelter in Bethlehem.

Pine Hills Church will have a Christmas Eve service at Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 24.

Salem United Church of Christ, 2401 Lake Ave., is having a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. Dec. 24.

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 7308 St. Joe Road, is having a Christmas Eve service at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and a Christmas Day service at 9 a.m. Dec. 25.

Trinity Episcopal Church, 611 W. Berry St., is having its Christmas masses at 5 and 10:30 p.m. Dec. 24.

Landmark Baptist Church, 620 Broadway St. in New Haven, is having a breakfast and Christmas service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., will have Christmas Eve services at 9 a.m., 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 24.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5310 Old Mill Road, will have a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Dec. 24 that includes music, candlelight and lessons.

United Presbyterian Church, 1616 W. Main St., will have a Christmas Eve worship service at 5 p.m. Dec. 24, featuring a dramatic presentation of “Abigail: The Story of the Cat at the Manger.”

Lecture/discussion

Lifetree Café will show a filmed interview with an Arizona sheriff who has been praised and criticized about his treatment of prisoners. The event will take place at The Mocha Lounge, 6312 Covington Road, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Special events

First Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne St., is having a reflection and meditation for those grieving during the holidays at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Victory Noll Center, 1900 W. Park Drive in Huntington, will hold an Advent Taize service at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Afterward, there will be a candlelit walk with poetry and prayer.

Union Baptist Church, 2200 Smith St., will distribute 250 gift certificates for Christmas after the 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sunday.

A Heal the Land Service for Erin Jehl, Ryann Tipton and Bart Heller who were killed in a recent shooting will be conducted at 3229 Lima Road at 12:15 p.m. today.
