IPFW vs. Dartmouth

When: 7 p.m. today

Where: Memorial Coliseum

Records: IPFW 5-3, Dartmouth 2-6

Radio: 1380 AM

IPFW leaders: Frank Gaines (22.8 ppg), Trey McCorkle (8.4 rpg), Jonny Marlin (5 apg)

Dartmouth leaders: R.J. Griffin (10.4 ppg), Gabas Maldunas, Jvonte Brooks (5.5 rpg), Jabari Trotter (2.4 apg)

Key matchup: Because the different styles of play will be on display, the question will be which team can get the other out of their comfort zone? IPFW employs a hurry-up offense, averaging nearly 74 points and giving up 76. Dartmouth, in familiar Ivy League style, is the antithesis, averaging 56.5 points on offense and allowing nearly 62.

The skinny: Dartmouth is coming off a 65-47 loss at Notre Dame on Dec. 10. Maldunas, a 6-foot-8 freshman forward, was the only Big Green player in double figures with 12 points. … The Mastodons, on the other hand, recently posted an 83-80 overtime win at Nebraska Omaha in which Gaines was held to 7 points, McCorkle had 25 and Marlin had 13 points, 10 assists and no turnovers in 43 minutes.
