Former major leaguer Jacque Jones has been named the hitting coach for the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
Jones had a .277 batting average in his 10 years. He played with the Minnesota Twins for seven years and spent two years with the Chicago Cubs. He split his final season, 2008, with Detroit and Florida. He hit 165 home runs and had 630 RBI.
The addition of Jones, 36, completes Fort Wayne's coaching staff. He joins manager Jose Valentin and pitching coach Willie Blair.
"It will be exciting to have another former major league player in the dugout this season," TinCaps president Mike Nutter said in a statement. "We are looking forward to working with Jacque in his first year as a hitting coach and the rest of staff in 2012."
