TinCaps to sell tickets for playoffs

– Tickets for a potential home playoff game for the TinCaps will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Fort Wayne holds a three-game lead for the final Eastern Division playoff spot entering play Wednesday. Counting Wednesday’s game at South Bend, Fort Wayne has 13 games remaining on the regular-season schedule.

If Fort Wayne qualifies, it would have a home game Sept. 7. The game would start at 7:05 p.m. with fireworks to follow.

“While the team hasn’t yet clinched a spot, we wanted to give fans a chance to reserve their tickets as we anticipate postseason games,” team president Mike Nutter said in a statement.

“We’ve started a tradition here at Parkview Field to start the playoffs with a bang,” Nutter said.

Tickets are available by phone at 482-6400, at the Parkview Field ticket office or at TinCaps.com.

Refunds will be available for if the TinCaps fail to qualify for the playoffs.
