City yard waste entrance to move on Lake Ave.

Because of the Maplecrest Road project, the entrance to Fort Wayne’s yard waste composting and biosolids handling complex in the 6000 block of Lake Avenue will be relocated next week.

The city announced Friday that the new entrance will open Tuesday, and is about 700 feet west of the existing entrance. The new entrance will be directly across from Lofton Way.

The new entrance will also be the new exit from the site.

The city said the relocation is expected to make it easier to turn left on Lake Avenue.
