Eateries celebrate Easter

After you raid your Easter basket, you’ll probably want to do some serious feasting.

Here are some of the restaurants celebrating Sunday:

•Vince’s, 10460 Maysville Road, will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a special menu that includes maple-glazed pork loin, filet, crab cakes, smoked ham, scallops, cornmeal-fried tilapia, herb-crusted salmon, crab-stuffed shrimp, and grilled chicken with penne. Prices are $12.99 to $18.99, which includes a house salad, grilled asparagus and smashed potatoes. A children’s menu will be available. To make reservations, call 748-0390.

•The Oyster Bar, 1830 S. Calhoun St., will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a special menu that includes rack of lamb, steak, seafood, smoked salmon Benedict, Ossian ham, omelets and complimentary mimosas. To make reservations, call 744-9490.

•Fort Wayne Marriott, 305 E. Washington Center Road, will have a buffet from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with prime rib, leg of lamb, chicken Chardonnay, grilled mahi mahi, jumbo shrimp cocktail, crab claws, smoked salmon, asparagus, roasted potatoes, an omelet station, salads, a bread bar and a chocolate buffet and other desserts. •The Lucky Moose, 622 E. Dupont Road, will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a seafood buffet that includes shrimp, salmon, tilapia, catfish, crawfish, ribs, chicken, ham, pancakes, bacon and sausage, an omelet station and salad bar. It’s $12.95 and half price for kids; 2 and younger eat free. To make reservations, call 490-5765. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, it will have a breakfast bar with eggs, pancakes and the salad bar for $6.95.

•Hall’s Triangle Park, 3010 Trier Road, will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., serving the regular menu and a feature of baked Ossian ham, mashed sweet potatoes, vegetable and choice of salad. It’s $11.99 for adults, $9.99 for seniors and $4.99 for ages 12 and younger. Add strawberry shortcake for $1.99. To make reservations, call 482-4342.

•Hall’s Tavern at Coventry, 5745 Coventry Lane, will offer a similar feature for the same price. The Ossian ham will be served with au gratin potatoes, corn casserole and a house salad. To make reservations, call 459-2893.

•Sara’s Family Restaurant, 5792 Coventry Lane, will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. serving the regular menu and $14.99 specials. They are a seafood sampler (tilapia, shrimp and crab cake), Italian sampler (lasagna, chicken parmesan and pasta Alfredo) and steak and shrimp. All are served with salad and a side.

•Marko’s on 2nd, 135 S. Second St., Decatur, will have brunch and a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feast on eggs Benedict (with crab cakes or fried green tomatoes), pecan pancakes, ham and spinach quiche, crème brûlée French toast, omelets (beef tip and blue cheese, ham and smoked Gouda, or spinach and artichoke), biscuits and sausage gravy, filet with pimento cheese, chicken penne pasta and burgers. •The Rittenhouse, 218 S. Main St., Bluffton, will have a buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feast on ham, turkey, sausage, eggs, soup, vegetables, salad bar, bread bar and desserts. It’s $16.95 for adults and $7.95 for children (ages to 5 to 10). To make reservations, call 260-824-8112.

•T.W. Fable, 360 N. Main St., Bluffton, will have a buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with chilled blood orange soup, Green Eggs and Ham Benedicts, eggs Florentine, chicken and waffles, quiche, crepes with strawberry foam, BLT flatbread, raspberry brioche French toast, crème brulee and rhubarb panna cotta. •Joseph Decuis, 191 N. Main St., Roanoke, will have a four-course meal with wine for $50 (or $38 without wine). Entrée choices are Wagyu sirloin steak, organic Scottish salmon, lamb ragout and Gunthorp Farms chicken Delmonico or duck breast. The children’s menu offers a cheeseburger, chicken strips or noodles for $10, which includes a drink and dessert. To make reservations, call 672-1715.

•Clay’s Restaurant in Fremont will have a breakfast buffet from 8 to 11:30 a.m. It’s $6.99 for adults and 65 cents per year of age for children. The dinner buffet runs from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will feature baked ham, fried chicken, roast beef, gravy, potatoes and other vegetables, a soup and salad bar and dessert. It’s $12.99 for adults, $11.99 for seniors and $1 per year of age for children. The restaurant is at 7815 Old 27 N. near Lake George.

•The Works Ice Cream Café, 396 Manchester Ave., Wabash, will offer a kids’ Easter basket sundae for $2.25. It includes colored coconut, soft-serve ice cream, M&Ms, marshmallows, jelly beans and a licorice handle. Kids 12 and younger can also get a free candy-filled egg Sunday.

Ziano’s opens Dupont location

Ziano’s Italian Eatery has opened a location at 702 E. Dupont Road, a few doors down from the Lucky Moose and Cebolla’s Mexican Grill.

This is Zianos’ second location. The menu is the same, offering a variety of pasta, pizza, sandwiches, salads and breadsticks.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

Coffeehouse opens on Main Street

Peace Frog Coffeehouse has opened at 1522 W. Main St. in the former Dragon’s Keep Cafe.

Besides the standard coffee and tea drinks, it also sells muffins, cookies and other baked goods.

Hours are noon to midnight Mondays to Thursdays, noon to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays.

Every Monday night, it has an open mic session. And live acoustic music is planned for most Friday and Saturday nights. There also will be a monthly exhibit of local artists.

T.W. Fable features Pacific Northwest

T.W. Fable in Bluffton continues its “Destination Tasting: Passport Series” on Tuesday, featuring the cuisine of the Pacific Northwest.

The four-course meal is $40, which doesn’t include tax or gratuity. Add a wine-tasting option for $25.

‘Recipe to Rock’ at Sweetwater Sound

It’s like “Glee,” but with food. Churubusco High School’s New Era show choir is teaming with culinary arts students at Ivy Tech Community College to present “Recipe to Rock” on April 30 at Sweetwater Sound, 5501 U.S. 30 W.

The four-course menu will include Zinfandel braised beef, Tuscan bean soup and a Grenoble nut tart. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $30. Reservations must be made today; call Mary Jo Toenges at 481-2243.

•Chuck and Bird’s, 4301 Fairfield Ave., will grill out every Wednesday through the summer. The grill menu features brats, burgers, a mushroom burger and a half-chicken. Prices are $6.99 to $8.99, which include sides.
