Notre Dame freshman Derek Roback has left the football program, according to the South Bend Tribune.
Roback was moved from outside linebacker to safety early in training camp, but the 6-foot-3, 233-pounder will try to make a move to quarterback at Ohio University, coach Brian Kelly told the paper. Roback is from Waverly, Ohio.
Roback is the second player to leave the program recently. Receiver Shaquelle Evans decided to transfer before the start of the season.
