Teen’s plea deal would drop murder charge for admitting conspiracy

WARSAW – A 15-year-old northern Indiana boy has offered to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in the shooting death of his stepfather in exchange for prosecutors dropping charges of murder and aiding murder, according to an area newspaper.

The Times-Union of Warsaw is reporting that Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Rex Reed will decide Sept. 27 whether to accept the plea agreement. If he does, the teen faces 20 years to 50 years in prison.

Colt Lundy and 12-year-old Paul Gingerich are accused of shooting to death 49-year-old Phillip Danner in April at his home near Lake Wawasee, according to archives at The Journal Gazette.

The 15-year-old testified Wednesday that he and his friend waited for Danner in a living room and shot him when he entered.
