The last installment of our IU preview looks at the special teams.

Kicking competition has been fierce throughout, with Nick Freeland and Mitch Ewald matching each other kick-for-kick in practice.

Freeland, who converted 14 of 25 last year, is listed as the starter in the team's pregame notes. Ewald was redshirted last season.

Chris Hagerup returns as the punter. He averaged 40.5 yards per punt in 2009.

Jeff Sanders handles the long snap duties and Teddy Shell is the holder.

Tandon Doss, when healthy, is expected to handle the kickoff and punt return duties. With Doss out, fellow wide receiver Duwyce Wilson is slated to return kicks against Towson and Terrance Turner, another receiver, is slotted for punt returns.
