The TinCaps came into Tuesday having lost five of seven games, but they had an offensive explosion on the road, defeating Bowling Green 13-9 in Kentucky.
The TinCaps broke things open with three runs in second, begun by Jeudy Valdezs RBI single to center. A fielding error by first baseman Ryan Wiegand allowed Valdez and Everett Williams to score for a 3-0 lead.
The TinCaps scored four in the third on Jedd Gyorkos RBI single to right and Williams three-run double to center.
Fort Waynes lead was cut to 8-5 after seven, but the TinCaps responded with five runs in the eighth.
Nate Freiman and Edinson Rincon were the only TinCaps with multiple hits. Rincon had two doubles. Valdez was 1 for 4 with three runs scored.
Fort Wayne (39-25, 75-59) outhit Bowling Green (26-38, 57-76), 10-8.
