2 face trial in boiling-water attack on mom

LANCASTER, Pa. – A central Pennsylvania woman who police said poured boiling water on her sleeping mother's face will stand trial on attempted murder charges.

Alisa Ashley Loump, 23, waived her preliminary hearing Tuesday in Lancaster County Court. Police said the Ephrata woman attacked Jennie Loump in July because she objected to her daughter’s relationship with an Indiana man.

Antoine Dewayne Walker, 18, of Edinburgh, Ind., also waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Police said Loump told them she was on the phone with Walker at the time of the attack and persuaded her to attack her mother.

Loump and Walker face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy. Loump is also charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

Jennie Loump received second-degree burns over 70 percent of her body.
