As part of the Maplecrest Road extension project, construction work is scheduled to begin Thursday at Adams Center Road and Indiana 930.

Allen County officials said the intersection will close until 5 p.m. Thursday for installation of a water line, and then it will be open to traffic during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Beginning Sept. 7, Adams Center will again close from Indiana 930 to 1,000 feet south of the intersection. This closure is set for 90 days to widen and pave Adams Center. It is scheduled to open Dec. 6.

The county said there will be a concrete barrier along the south side of Indiana 930 at the intersection to keep motorists from turning south.

The official detour will use Meyer and Moeller roads.
