Celebrate the start of fall with two local fundraisers this month.
First is the annual Toast to Life, a benefit for Hospice Home, which provides end-of-life care for patients in eight counties.
The fundraiser will be at 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at Club Soda.
The six-course meal will be paired with beers. Beer specialists will discuss each.
The event also includes a silent auction of wine, beer and food items.
Tickets are $100 and available at Club Soda, 235 E. Superior St., and at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road.

Feast on grilled buffalo steak during the annual Buffalo Tro on Sept. 24.
The fundraiser will be from 6 to 9 p.m. and benefits the History Centers Heritage Education Fund, which provides free admission to area students.
Tickets are $50. Call the History Center at 426-2882 by Sept. 17 to reserve them.
The event will be at the Chief Richardville House, 5705 Bluffton Road.
Acme Bar offering Italian specials Tuesday
The Acme Bar, 1105 E. State Blvd., will serve a taste of Italy on Tuesday night.
Some of the featured homemade dishes will be ricotta or mushroom ravioli in a garlic cream sauce, spaghetti with meatballs in a marinara sauce, and rigatoni with Italian sausage and peppers.
All are served with a side salad and Italian bread.
The margherita pizza has tomatoes, basil and mozzarella, plus the crust is brushed with olive oil and parmesan cheese. Most entrée prices are $7.99 to $9.99.
Enjoy tiramisu or lemon tart for dessert. Beverages include limonata (lemon soda) and Italian wines.

Pizzeria features grilled chicken
B. Antonios Pizza is serving up balsamic grilled chicken two ways during September. Get it on a pizza thats also topped with apples, pecans and gorgonzola cheese.
