Irish, BYU to play 6 times through 2020

It looks like two independent college football programs will be sticking together.

BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said in a news release Wednesday that BYU and Notre Dame will play each other six times through 2020.

The Cougars will compete as an independent starting in 2011.

"We're still working out the details, but we have agreed to a six-game deal through 2020 with Note Dame football that will bring the Fighting Irish to Provo," Holmoe said in a release announcing a TV deal with ESPN.
