Harding-North Side notes

There might not have been a lot of points scored in North Side's 18-12 four-overtime win against Harding on Friday, but there was still some excitement.

First of all, it was four overtimes. Games simply don't last that long. Despite the length of the game, it was quick and ended around 9:30 p.m.

Second, there was a near bench-clearing brawl in the third quarter. But cooler heads prevailed.

After some players on both sides began to push and talk trash, coaches from both sides moved onto the field and stopped any possible chaos.

Unsportsmanlike penalties were assessed on both sides.

And third, 2010 Mr. Basketball Deshaun Thomas from Bishop Luers was in attendance and signed a few autographs.

The Ohio State freshman was there watching some of his friends from when he attended Northwood Middle School, a feeder school for North Side.

Finally, the fireworks display after the game was pretty good and pretty appropriate to wrap up an extra-long game.
