Sullivan sharp in loss

Jerry Sullivan's longest outing in more than two months was also his sharpest. The pitcher gave up two runs on two hits in six innings in a game Fort Wayne lost to Great Lakes 6-3.

He got a no-decision.

Sullivan, like several other TinCaps pitchers, saw his innings and pitches cut in the last couple of months as a way to preserve his arm through a long season.

Friday marked Sullivan's longest outing since going seven innings June 2 against Wisconsin.

"Jerry threw an outstanding ballgame," TinCaps manager Jose Flores said. "He threw excellent. That is probably one of the best games I've seen him throw in a while. He kept us in the ballgame."
