If form holds, the TinCaps would face Great Lakes in the first round of the Midwest League Eastern Division playoffs. The TinCaps hold a 6-5 edge in the season series after Thursday's 6-4 victory.
"We need to set the tone early and make big pitches when we need to," TinCaps manager Jose Flores said. "And we need to, in certain situations have clutch hits and not make too many mistakes defensively. A good team, an older team like (the Loons) are, they are going to find a way to take advantage of it."
The TinCaps won despite making five errors.
Great Lakes and Fort Wayne meet for the final time in the regular season Friday.
