  • Drama in sight for Pebble final round
Charlie Wi played bogey-free at Spyglass Hill for a 3-under 69 to build a three-shot lead Saturday in the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Now it’s time for him to face his demons of self-doubt – along with a familiar force in golf.
  • U.S. teen leads Aussie Open
American teenager Jessica Korda moved into position for a two-sport, father-daughter Australian double, shooting par 73 in windy conditions Saturday to take a 1-shot lead at the Women’s Australian Open.
  • Little changes as rain hits Pebble
On a day when sunshine gave way to a light rain, two things stayed the same Friday at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Charlie Wi was still atop the leader board, and Tiger Woods didn’t hole enough putts to make up ground.

Woods, Nordegren statement
“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren divorce

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren, officially divorced Monday, nine months after his middle-of-the-night car crash outside his home set off shocking revelations that golf's biggest star had been cheating on his wife.

The divorce was filed in Bay County Circuit Court in the Florida Panhandle. The couple had married in October 2004 in Barbados and have two children, ages 3 and 1.

"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," they said in a statement released by attorneys. "While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

Terms of the divorce were not released, except that they will "share parenting" of their 3-year-old daughter, Sam, and 19-month-old son, Charlie.

Woods is to play this week at The Barclays in northern New Jersey.

The sex scandal cost him millions of dollars in corporate endorsements and caused him to take five months away from the game, including two months in therapy in a Mississippi clinic, when he was trying to save his marriage.
