David Eckstein made his final appearance for the TinCaps count.

Eckstein, who is expected to rejoin the Padres today in Milwaukee, was 2 for 4 with three RBI in his last rehab start and helped Fort Wayne to a 7-3 victory Friday at West Michigan.

Eckstein, rehabbing a strained right calf, was 3 for 9

in three games for the TinCaps. He had an RBI groundout in the first inning and a two-run single in the third against the Whitecaps.

Fort Wayne (33-20, 69-54) had 12

hits to win for the third time in the last four games and finish the six-game road trip 4-2. The TinCaps return home tonight for a seven-game homestand.

Edinson Rincon had a two-run home run, and Jonathan Galvez had an RBI single and stole home in the fifth.

Fort Wayne didn’t only get solid hitting to cap the road trip.

Though starting left-hander Jose DePaula had his 10-inning scoreless streak snapped when he allowed two runs in the second inning, he was mostly solid. DePaula allowed only three hits and struck out four in four innings.

Joshua Spence struck out six and didn’t allow a hit in three innings of relief to earn the victory and improve to 2-0.
