Former major leaguer Jacque Jones has been named the hitting coach for the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
Jones had a .The pitch grazed Jonathan Galvez. But that's all it had to do.
Bowling Green's Scott Shuman hit Galvez with the pitch, bringing home Nate Freiman with the winning run for an amazing 6-5 TinCaps' win.
The ninth inning was filled with momentum swings. Bowling Green scored five times in the top of the inning to take a 5-3 lead.
The TinCaps answered with three in the bottom of the inning without the benefit of a hit.
Shuman walked five straight batters. No one warmed up the Hot Rods bullpen. He then hit Galvez, helping the TinCaps match a season high with their sixth consecutive win.
"I was just looking for my pitch but I was waiting because (Shuman) was overthrowing," Galvez said. "The pitch touched me a little bit.
"We were positive we could win. Everyone on this team has confidence."
