    CHESTER, Pa. – Notre Dame advanced to the NCAA lacrosse semifinals, defeating Virginia 12-10 Sunday after striking for six fourth-quarter goals.

Irish to face Georgia in basketball tourney

Notre Dame will tip off play in the 2010 Old Spice Classic against Georgia at 7 p.m. Nov. 25 in Orlando, Fla. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

The tournament's bracket was released Thursday. The Irish will face either Temple or California in its second game of the tournament.

Other first round matchups are Boston College against Texas A&M; Wisconsin against Manhattan and Temple against California. Second-day games are on Nov. 26 and the championship and final-day games are scheduled for Nov. 28. The two remaining undefeated teams play in the championship game.

"This has quickly become one of the premier early-season tournaments in the country," head coach Mike Brey said in a news release. "We're thrilled to be participating in this year's event. This season's field is extremely strong and will provide us and the fans with some great competition."

The Irish finished 23-12 last season and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Georgia, went 14-17 and reached the second round of the SEC tournament.
