Indiana athletic director Fred Glass said he's confident Bill Lynch will be the football coach at the school "for a long, long time."
"I really feel like Bill and his staff have the program going in a great direction," Glass said Monday. "Whether it's the recruiting philosophy and the results. What he's done with redshirting. The progress we've seen on the field, the kind of kids we are getting. Look at the offensive weaponry we have and what he's doing putting the defense back together."
The Hoosiers are coming off a 4-8 season. Lynch will be entering the third year of a four-year contract. In three seasons, he is 14-23.
Lynch appreciates the support the athletic department has given the program, including upgrades in facility.
"The support (Glass) has given us has been great," Lynch said. "I couldn't ask for more. It's been a really good relationship since he has got there. He has shown a great commitment to football."
