One of the things I love about these books is the names of garments. It's fun to see what kind of images a term like "Gretchen dress" brings to your mind.

I found this book at the library during my fashion/knitting excursion. Knitting-wise, I think it's interesting that the collar is the same on the front and the back. I also love the little turned-back sleeves with lace trim. It looks like a great way to get a touch of lace on a garment without having to always worry about dipping your handiwork in the ketchup. Not that I have ever done that. I'm less excited about puffed sleeves, in general, but they would look cute on a little girl's dress or sweater.
