History for Knitters, Part 1 of ?

One of the books I found is "Authentic Everyday Dress of the Renaissance: All 154 Plates from the "Trachtenbuch" by Christoph Weiditz.

I mostly just like to look at books like this one and see what they considered important enough to include. Also, I love looking at different garment shapes and details. Sleeves, especially, have been interesting to me lately.

So, here is one I thought was intriguing. I love the gathered details on her sleeves and her snood has some great texture. What on earth do you think might be in her right hand?
