… when your dog won't walk
I wanted to take Marty for a walk this morning before the heat set in. He has congestive heart failure, so I watch him pretty carefully on hot, ozone warning days.
Today, he was walking about 7:30 a.m., tail up, not panting, when he just sat down. He didn't seem to be in distress, but I trust my dog to know when he's had enough.
So I picked up the nearly 30-pounder and carried him home.
Apparently, he doesn't care if I die on hot, ozone warning days.
