Military veterans and active duty individuals will be recognized at the TinCaps game against Bowling Green on Monday during Military Appreciation Day at Parkview Field.
Military vehicles will be on display on the concourse, the Lincoln Financial Event Center will have kiosk displays of local and state resources for military familiesand veterans available to them from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. through the sixth inning, commemorative jerseys will be worn by the TinCaps for Sunday and Monday games and then will be sold in a silent auction to support the Indiana Military Family Relief Fund and a banner available for community members to thank the military will be available at the game.
The event is in collaboration with the Northeast Indiana Military Assistance Network, which is a collaboration of local agencies committed to raising the community awareness of the veteran and military family experience, connecting veteran and military families with local and state resources,and increasing veteran and military families’ accesst o resources.
On Sunday, a Community Covenant will be presented and signed by the mayor, elected city, county and state officials and military representatives. This is a public display of support by community leaders to the military and family members and a call to action for community members to get involved to support veterans, soldiers and their families as they protect ourcountry.
This signing will take place on-field postgame, prior to the fireworks display.
