Notebook: 2nd Annual Wine in the Pines June 19

Statement issued Wednesday:

Albion, IN - Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in Albion will host the second annual Wine in the Pines wine tasting benefit on Saturday, June 19.

In addition to an offering of a variety of wines to taste, Wine in the Pines will offer the opportunity to enjoy a personally guided sanctuary tour to meet more than 80 exotic rescued exotic animals including tigers, lions, leopards, bears, monkeys, reptiles, birds and more. The sanctuary tour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by wine tastings, food, and live music from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided via the acoustic sounds of Paul and Susan Stephens, lead vocalists for Fort Wayne-based band Fawn Liebowitz.

Tickets are $30 each and are available now by calling (260) 636-7383, or purchasing online via the sanctuary’s web site at www.blackpineanimalpark.com/wine. Admission will also be available at the door. Only those age 21 or over with valid photo ID will be admitted. There are no refunds. This event will take place primarily outdoors, with some shelter provided.

Black Pine is a 501c3 non-profit exotic animal sanctuary that provides permanent refuge to displaced exotic "pets" and retired performers. All proceeds will fund the ongoing care of the animal residents.
