The TinCaps had as many hits with runners in scoring position Sunday (seven) as they did the previous five games of the homestand. The clutch hitting led to an 8-3 win over Beloit.
"It was a big thing. We had been a little slow with our bats the last couple of days. It was good to score more than three runs in this game," said catcher Jason Hagerty, who went 3 for 4 with three RBI.
Fort Wayne went 7 for 22 with runners in scoring position. In the previous five games (in which the team had a 1-4 record), the TinCaps were 7 for 55 with runners in scoring position.
