Losing a duel

Nick Greenwood only allowed two runs on six hits Tuesday against Wisconsin. But Kyle Heckathorn was just a little better as the Timber Rattlers topped the TinCaps 2-1.

Heckathorn gave up one run on five hits in seven innings.

Greenwood struck out five and walked one. Both of the runs he allowed came on two-strike pitches.

"They both threw strikes, unfortunately (Greenwood) made a couple of bad pitches that he left up," TinCaps manager Jose Flores said. "Both with two strikes, the home run to (Cutter) Dykstra, a hanging change-up (with one out in the third inning). And then a two-out 0-2 base hit (to Cameron Garfield in the sixth) and then the 0-2 slider up and away that (Pete Fatse) drove in for the second run.

"Outside of that, I thought he pitched well."
