Elmhurst slugger advances

Kristian Gayday of Elmhurst won the SAC's round of the "hometown hitter" home run derby. No player hit a home run, but Gayday had the furthest hit in the second round of the contest. Other participants include Temujin Sery (Northrop), John Ganaway (Harding), Keaston Jackson (Wayne), Charlie Pfister (Bishop Luers), Mike Mugg (Bishop Dwenger), Nick Batuello (South Side), Tim Holley (North Side) and Danny Rynearson (Concordia).

Future qualifying rounds will be May 16 (ACAC and Canterbury) and May 23 (NHC and Blackhawk Christian).

Gayday advances to the finals, which is June 5. The winner will compete in the Midwest League home run derby June 21 at Parkview Field.
