Verbatim: Pet acupuncture featured at ACSPCA meeting

Statement issued Thursday:

Putting your dog on an acupuncturist’s table may seem as strange to you as signing him up for a yoga class, but even mainstream vets recognize that animal acupuncture is an effective alternative therapy that can help pets lead healthier – and possibly longer – lives.

June Aldiver, DVM and Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist from Sylvan Lake Animal Clinic, will demonstrate how this form of therapy is done and will talk of the many proven benefits that this procedure has for animals as they age and for those that suffer from various medical ailments at the Allen County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ACSPCA) annual membership meeting April 13 at Parkview Field.

In addition to learning about this exciting treatment option, members will be voting for board of director candidates and hearing about the center’s activities during the past year. Those attending will also be treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of Parkview Field and will be eligible to win Tin Caps merchandise.

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the Conference Center, located inside Parkview Field, directly under the jumbo scoreboard. More details and instructions to enter the field can be found at www.acspca.org or by calling 744-0454.
