Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly is brining a new feeling to the program.
One of the ways Kelly created a new atmosphere leading into the start of spring practice is with non-football workouts he calls "Camp Kelly."
And while the drills, which were done early in the morning, do not directly correlate to football, they were chances for Kelly to find out about his team. And for the players to understand what will be expected of them.
"We went out there at 5 in the morning, when we had snowbanks on the field, just to send a message of what it takes to be successful. I think we learned a lot," Kelly said. "Our second one, our players picked up quickly on what their weaknesses are, and we addressed them."
And now the Irish will address on-field issues when they open spring practice Friday.
