Clinton rally moves to park

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will make her second stop in the Summit City on Saturday, but the location has changed, her campaign announced Tuesday.

The Democratic presidential hopeful, originally slated to visit Thursday, then to speak at Grand Wayne Center, is now scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. at the Headwaters Park Lincoln Pavilion. Gates open at 8 a.m. at the South Clinton Street entrance.

The stop is part of Clinton’s “Solutions for the American Economy” tour, which is also heading to Bloomington, Gary, East Chicago and South Bend this weekend.

Clinton last visited Fort Wayne on March 28 with a stop at Sara’s Family Restaurant.

Her supporters previously told Clinton’s campaign manager they wanted a larger rally to show their support.

Clinton’s husband, former President Clinton, has visited northeast Indiana twice, and daughter Chelsea Clinton visited Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne last week.

Clinton’s rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, visited Wayne High School on April 4.
